Lindsay Arnold Says DWTS Finale Will Be Decided by Fan Votes, Not Judges: “It’s Going to Be Crazy

Date:

Lindsay Arnold believes that the winner of Dancing With the Stars season 33 will be decided mostly by fan votes, especially after some surprising judges’ scores. She explained that this season, the votes from viewers have become more important than ever, whereas in past seasons, judges’ scores played a bigger role.

Lindsay, who was a pro on the show from 2013 to 2021, emphasized that it’s crucial for fans to support their favorite couples during the finale on Tuesday, November 26. She said, “The way the scoring has been, it’s all up in the air now, and it really comes down to how the audience votes.”

She’s personally rooting for her sister, Rylee Arnold, and her partner, Stephen Nedoroscik. Lindsay thinks it’s pretty cool that the fans’ love for their favorite teams can have such a big impact on who wins the Mirrorball Trophy. “It makes it kind of crazy and very unpredictable,” she added with excitement. “I have no idea how the season will end, which is fun!”

No matter who takes home the trophy, Lindsay is looking forward to seeing Rylee right after the finale for Thanksgiving. She shared that last year, they had Thanksgiving in Malibu since the show wrapped up later, but this year, it will be back to Utah where Rylee lives once the show finishes.

Lindsay also shared how special Thanksgiving is for the DWTS family. “It’s like a graduation gift for getting through another season,” she said, remembering how, when she won season 25, she brought her Mirrorball trophy to the family dinner. She joked, “I was like, ‘Hey guys, I have a new centerpiece for us!’” She’s hoping Rylee will have a similar moment this year.

When it comes to cooking, Lindsay’s excited to work with Diamond Crystal Salt for Thanksgiving. She said using the salt instantly makes her food taste better and makes holiday prep much easier. “I like to do some prep the night before, so everything is ready to go the next day,” she explained.

Lindsay loves using Diamond Crystal Salt on desserts because she’s a big fan of the sweet and salty combo. She shared a fun fact about her favorite restaurant, where they top lemon gelato with salt and olive oil. “It sounds kind of weird, but it’s so good,” she said.

As for holiday tips, Lindsay believes that it’s OK if things get a little messy. “Chaos is OK. It doesn’t have to be perfect,” she said. For her, the most important thing is spending time with family and loved ones during the holidays.

Lindsay, who shares two young daughters with her husband, Samuel Cusick, knows how important it is to enjoy the moment and not stress about everything being just right.
