25-year-old man arrested in Arizona in connection with Omaha cold case

OMAHA, Neb. – A seven-year-old cold case has now been solved.

The Omaha Police Department says 25-year-old Bernard Turner was arrested for first-degree murder in the death of Julius Vaughn. Turner was found in Arizona and is currently in custody for unrelated charges.

Vaughn’s death occurred on Oct. 18, 2013. He was found murdered near 23rd and Vinton Streets in Omaha.

Authorities say Turner will be extradited to Omaha and be booked into Douglas County Corrections.
